Abstract

Introduction: Postoperative abdominal compartment syndrome is a serious complication characterized by a pathological increase in intra-abdominal pressure, which can arise after extensive surgeries. Early identification and proper management are crucial for improving patient prognosis. Case Report: A case of a 58-year-old man who developed abdominal compartment syndrome after intestinal resection is presented. Despite an initially uncomplicated surgery, the patient showed signs of deterioration, and the diagnosis was confirmed through intra-abdominal pressure measurement, leading to urgent decompressive laparotomy. Conclusions: Multidisciplinary treatment and early intervention resulted in significant improvement for the patient, with recovery of organ function and successful abdominal closure.
