Introduction: dengue is a dynamic disease, with a seasonal recurrence and recurrence with temporary outbreaks that generate concern at the epidemiological level. In this sense, we seek to make a review with emphasis on the younger age group as a population at risk.
Objective: to characterize aspects related to dengue in pediatric age.
Method: a questionnaire was conducted to ten (10) cases of pediatric specialists with more than 5 years of experience and currently practicing. The results were addressed through the development of a small database and the analysis of this through descriptive statistics.
Results: the pediatricians consulted highlighted abdominal pain (90 %), myalgia or arthralgia (90 %), the professionals managed to identify an average of 5.7 symptoms (70 %), the professionals highlighted DEN-4 (90 %). 8 out of 10 professionals mention 2024 as the year with the most cases.
Conclusion: through this systematic observation, it is observed that professionals have difficulties in early detection of dengue, as well as certainty in diagnosing the severity of the problems and epidemiological solutions according to official institutions.
