In vitro fertilization (IVF) refers to the technology of a fertility procedure used to aid conception of the embryo by using a combination of drugs and surgery to encourage sperm to fertilize eggs and help fertilized eggs implant in the uterus. This method is used to treat couples who do not have eggs or sperm (through donor gametes). The success of IVF depends on many factors, but the age of the woman is one of the most important. In addition, the quality of the sperm in the semen sample can also affect the success of the treatment. There are several steps to IVF and the entire process takes several months to complete. Sometimes it works on the first try, but in many cases it takes more than 1 IVF cycle to get pregnant. Embryo transfer In vitro fertilization is a technique known for a long time in the veterinary field. It was introduced into medicine to treat infertility caused by a blockage in the fallopian tubes that prevents the egg and sperm from uniting
